CHANGES TO OLD FORGE SURGERY

08th December 2021 - 1:11 PM

Dr Drew Bradman, GP Partner, said:

“Like other organisations across the country, here at Haxby Group we are struggling to recruit support staff. In particular, the demands and stresses on our front desk teams over the past 2 years have been very challenging.

We have, for some time, been exploring all possible options to make sure we staff all our surgeries. As our patients will know, we have recently been relocating other members of our admin team to work within Old Forge surgery to bridge the staffing shortages within our reception team.

Despite our efforts, we are making the following temporary changes at our Old Forge surgery from 13 December.”

The front desk at Old Forge surgery will be unstaffed after 12.30pm Monday to Friday from Monday 13 December until matters improve.

This is a temporary measure and we aim to go back to the surgery’s full opening hours as soon as we can.

Patients should be reassured that there will be no reduction in the number of clinical appointments and no loss of appointment availability. This is purely an admin staffing issue.

Clinicians will continue to work within the surgery throughout the day and patients can still contact us online from 7am until 7pm Monday to Friday, or by phone from 8am until 6.30pm.

Old Forge surgery is one of our key branch surgery sites and we have always strived to keep it staffed in the afternoons.

We continue to recruit to our admin roles and we urge anyone interested to apply via our Haxby Group website recruitment page.”
